Jodi Arias Mugshot: Is Travis Alexander’s Girlfriend In Jail?

Jodi Arias has reported to jail to begin serving her life term for murder, and she now has a fresh mugshot.

The picture shows Arias with a stone face and a jail garb of orange.

In stark contrast, she was beaming in her original booking shot. Later, she stated that her smile was caused by the fact that her victim would have grinned if he had been in her shoes.

She added that the mugshot will likely be readily accessible online, so why not?

In a new mugshot taken this week, Jodi Arias looked serious as she begins her life in prison term for the murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander.

Prison life is not something to chuckle about. Arias knew her first 2008 mugshot would be widely shared, so she purposely smiled at it.

Arias was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole on Monday after being found guilty of murder. She plans to contest the ruling.

On Monday, a judge sentenced Arias to life in prison without the chance of release. On the day the verdict was announced, Arias is depicted in the picture above entering Maricopa County Superior Court.

What Did Jodi Arias Do?

The prosecution contends that Jodi Arias murdered Travis Alexander in a fit of jealous rage in order to break up with her.

The relationship between Arias and her ex-boyfriend ended in murder in 2008. He intended to stop their relationship, the prosecution claims, so she killed him in a jealous rage.

She shot Alexander and stabbed him nearly 30 times in his suburban Phoenix home before escaping and traveling to Utah to meet up with another potential love interest. She was held for several weeks and at first, denied any involvement.

She then weirdly portrayed masked assailants bursting into the House and killing Alexander in two televised interviews.

She ran away in terror at the same time, drawing quick notice from the global media.

On the day of his death, Alexander attacked her; she then changed her tale and said it was in self-defense.

Jodi Arias 2013 Trail: Did She Prefer Death Penalty?

Her 2013 trial became a media circus as details about their sexy love and the horrific crime scene were revealed in court and televised live.

People flew to Phoenix and lined up in the middle of the night to get seats in the courtroom to watch what had evolved into what many people thought to be a real-life soap opera.

Interest in the case increased after Arias told a local TV reporter in a jailhouse interview that she preferred the death penalty to life in prison, minutes after she was convicted guilty of murder.

She said that she would want to die sooner rather than later because longevity runs in her family and she doesn’t want to live out the rest of her natural life in one spot.

A new penalty phase trial, which began last year, was required since the first jury couldn’t agree on whether to carry out the woman’s execution.
