President Joe Biden is safe after his automobile collided with a truck that was guarding his convoy on Sunday night.
According to CNN, President Biden, 81, was leaving his campaign offices in Wilmington, Delaware, when the event happened.
The site claims that the car unintentionally struck an SUV during the convoy.
The website states that both cars were damaged in the event.
A representative for the US Secret Service, Steve Kopek, told CNN in a statement on Sunday that “today, at approximately 8:09 p.m., a Secret Service vehicle securing the President’s motorcade route was struck by another vehicle in Wilmington, DE.”
There was no protective interest associated with this incident, and the President’s motorcade departed without incident.
In a video obtained by the British site Sky News, President Biden can be heard making his way to his waiting car with a loud thud.
The president then casts a sidelong look in the area of the impact before being ushered into his car by his bodyguards.
