Budden asserted that he didn’t require a reason to dislike the group, despite Ice and Ish’s criticism that doing so was unacceptable:
Do I need a justification? Those n***as are disgusting. I don’t need an excuse; I just hate these n***as.

I’m not interested in seeing your four f***ing co-tees come from the crowd, band together like Voltron, and perform the 98 Degrees motions. I don’t want to see any of this garbage, she said.
Additionally, the podcaster incorrectly claimed that the group was from China:

Unquestionably, one of the most recognizable names in contemporary music is BTS. The K-pop sensation first appeared in 2013 and immediately gained one of the biggest fan bases in the entire world. Fans of BTS were understandably shocked when rapper Joe Budden expressed his “hate” for the group and made a few offensive comments. As a result, numerous fans took to Twitter to express their disapproval of the rapper’s comments:
Joe Budden is almost 41 years old. A grown man ought to have enough intelligence and maturity to see his obvious xenophobia, you would think. As the uproar on the internet intensified, Joe Budden stuck to his guns and tweeted a series of justifications for his actions:
It’s unclear if BTS will respond to Budden’s comments in the days to come as internet comments keep rolling in. The present unrest follows the duo’s amazing performance of their well-known song Butter at the 2022 Grammy Awards, which rocked the music industry.
BTS was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 64th Grammy Awards for Butter. For their number-one single Dynamite, they were even nominated for a Grammy in the same category the previous year.
