Chestnut won the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest in New York, where he gained recognition throughout the globe.

Additionally, he gained notoriety in 2007 when he broke the previous record by defeating six-time winner Takeru Kobayashi by consuming 66 hot dogs in 12 minutes.

The competitive eater holds many Guinness World marks and has broken and set several marks during his career.

He has competed in and won a number of different eating contests in addition to the well-known Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Joey Chestnut’s Religion: Is He Jewish Or Catholic?

As Joey Chestnut has never made his religious preferences known in public, the subject of his religion has seldom ever been discussed.

Despite this, his admirers and followers are still interested in learning more about his personal convictions and principles.

However, it is difficult to make any assumptions regarding Joey Chestnut’s religious views in the lack of trustworthy material.

This does not lessen Chestnut’s achievements as a competitive eater, however.

In the realm of competitive eating, the professional eater has continually shown his talent and tenacity, and his accomplishments speak for themselves.

Despite Joey Chestnut’s faith, his skills as a competitive eater continue to be recognized by admirers.

The Chestnut family of Joey

Joseph Christian Chestnut was given the name Joey Chestnut on November 25, 1983 in Fulton County, Kentucky, the United States.

He was one of a total of six children born to middle-class parents.

Joey’s father, Merlin Chestnut, left the family when he was only 2 years old, leaving his mother, Alicia Chestnut, to raise Joey and his siblings by herself.

His mother has a big part to play in Joey’s journey. She was his first mentor and helped him get the Mustard Yellow Belt.

Sadly, Alicia died quietly in her sleep on June 16, 2022, and her cause of death is still unclear.

When it comes to his love life, Chestnut was in a relationship with Neslie Ricasa, to whom he made a stage proposal in 2014 at the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Ricasa, who participates in competitive eating, agreed to his suggestion. Their engagement did not, however, result in a marriage.

In an interview with the New York Post in 2015, Joey disclosed that they had broken up in April, only a few weeks before their wedding date.

The professional eater began dating Brie after splitting up with Ricasa. But there isn’t a lot of information out there about her.

Joey Chestnut’s Race Revealed

White people make up Joey’s ethnicity, and he is an American citizen. However, nothing is known about the racial or ethnic background of his relatives.

He was raised in San Jose and went to San Jose State University to study civil engineering.

Chestnut, though, entered his first eating challenge in 2005 while still a student—a regional event that included deep-fried asparagus.

His first outing in the realm of competitive eating took place at this event when he left a lasting impact.

Chestnut has broken and established a number of records in competitive eating throughout the years.

He owns multiple records, including eating 78 matzoh balls in 5 minutes and 75 hot dogs in 10 minutes, all of which are world records.
