John Cena has joined Zac Efron and Jermaine Fowler in award-winning director Peter Farrelly’s upcoming comedy Ricky Stanicky.
Farrelly’s return to comedy has already begun with filming in Melbourne, Queensland, Australia. It’s a Prime Video production that will be available on the company’s streaming service.
Jennifer Salke, president of Amazon and MGM Studios, issued the following statement:

Thanks to Peter’s experience and what are sure to be hilarious performances from our amazing ensemble led by Zac Efron, John Cena, and Jermaine Fowler, our Prime Video customers around the world are in for a little mischief and a lot of laughter.”
Farrelly also left a comment, saying:
“I’d like to thank Amazon, as well as Paul Currie, Thorsten Schumacher, and John Jacobs, for making Ricky Stanicky a reality. This has been a dream project of mine for many years, but having such an incredible cast makes the wait more than worthwhile.”
Peter Farrelly’s films include Dumb and Dumber, Shallow Hal, Kingpin, Hall Pass, and There’s Something About Mary. He has two Academy Award nominations.
His films have been both critically and commercially successful, grossing more than $1 billion at the global box office. Ricky Stanicky’s movie, his new project, is causing quite a stir among fans who are eager to learn more about it.

The actor John Cena has been cast in Peter Farrelly’s upcoming comedy Ricky Stanicky. Although Cena has been cast in a key role in the production, details about his role and character have not been revealed.

In the Farrelly Brothers comedy, Jermaine Fowler was also cast. The actor has appeared in Hulu’s comedy The Drop, Am I Okay with Dakota Johnson, Eddie Murphy’s smash Coming 2 America on Prime Video, The Blackening, Judas and the Black Messiah, Superior Donuts, and 2018’s Sorry to Bother You.
Zac Efron, who most recently appeared in Farrelly’s Apple TV+ original film The Greatest Beer Run Ever, is also part of Ricky Stanicky’s ensemble. He will also appear in the thriller The Iron Claw and the rom-com A Family Affair, both starring Nicole Kidman and Joey King.
