John (the father) and Pamela Crews are Jonathan’s parents. Since their son’s enigmatic death, his parents have fought tenaciously for justice.
He reportedly had two brothers in addition to his parents, who reared crews in Irving. John, Jonathan’s father, was a minister at the nondenominational Heartland Church as well as an attorney.
When Jonathan was younger, he used to go see his grandfather in Montana and pick up pistol shooting. When his parents learned of their son’s passing, they were inconsolable.
Two years after a Coppell Police investigation failed to determine whether Crews’ death on February 2, 2014, was a homicide or the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Crews family moved to Dallas County civil courts.
Before 11:30 p.m., Kelly, Jonathan’s ex-girlfriend, contacted 911 to report that Crews had shot himself as a way of showing her his love. Pam, his mother, stated during her testimony at the trial that she wanted the account of her son’s passing to be accurate.
After Crews passed away, Kelly stayed with the family but skipped the viewing and funeral. Then, Danielle Crews, a longtime friend of Kelly’s, said that she went insane a few hours after Jonathan’s burial.
Why Did Jonathan Crews Pass Away?
On February 2, 2014, Jonathan Crews was fatally shot in the chest inside his Coppell apartment. Kelly, his ex-girlfriend, contacted 911 and informed the operator that Jonathan had shot himself as a sign of his love for her.
According to their records, the police at first questioned if the death was a homicide; nevertheless, Kelly was never charged. According to the Dallas County Medical Examiner, the cause of his death is still unknown.
However, Crews’ family is convinced that their son was killed. Just before he passed away, Jonathan revealed to his friends and sister his intention to split up with his fiancée.
According to police reports, Jonathan’s body was discovered on his bed, his broken phone was tucked between his mattress and box spring, and his gun’s lubricated magazine was stashed away in his collection of ties.
