According to media reports, Joo Ji-hoon is in talks to appear in the upcoming medical drama Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour. An industry official announced on January 2, 2023, that the actor had been cast in the next medical drama.

Joo Ji-hoon will play surgeon Baek Kang-hyuk if he accepts the casting call. The drama is based on the online book Jungjeung-oesangsenteo: Goldeun Awo by Lee Nak-alias Joon’s Hansanleega. He is an otolaryngologist and a YouTuber. He portrayed the character Baek Kag-hyuk as a brilliant, tall, and attractive surgeon with exceptional surgical abilities.

Joo Ji-hoon last appeared in a medical drama in 2013, more than a decade ago.
