It has drawn attention to the sickness of Canadian psychologist, author, and media commentator Jordan Peterson. Jordan Peterson’s conservative position on social and political issues garnered a lot of attention in the late 2010s. Peterson also describes himself as a conventional British liberal and a conservative.
Peterson, an Alberta native who was raised in that province, earned bachelor’s degrees in both political science and psychology from the University of Alberta. He then graduated from McGill University with a doctorate in clinical psychology. After studying and teaching at Harvard University, the Internet celebrity came back to Canada in 1998 and accepted a post as a psychology professor at the University of Toronto.
Many of his subsequent lectures were influenced by his first book, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief, which was published in 1999. The book integrates psychology, mythology, religion, literature, philosophy, and neuroscience to study belief and meaning systems.
While attending McGill University and the Douglas Hospital, Peterson conducted research on familial alcoholism and its associated psychopathologies, such as child and teenage aggression and hyperactivity.

Jordan Peterson’s illness is generating increasing interest, and the good news is that he did a great job penning this piece. Jordan, though, has already battled several ailments. Early in 2019, Peterson sought “emergency” benzodiazepine addiction therapy. Peterson said that his clonazepam dose was quadrupled once he learned that his wife Tammy had kidney cancer and that this rehab was the result.
Peterson said that he experienced “horrific” benzodiazepine withdrawal symptoms despite multiple attempts to lower dosage or stop using the medication. After being unable to locate North American medical practitioners who could suit his demands, Peterson made a trip to Moscow, Russia, in January 2020 with his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter to seek therapy.
He had pneumonia in both of his lungs when he landed in Russia, doctors found. He was maintained in the critical care unit for four weeks after being placed into a medically induced coma for eight days. During this period, he momentarily lost his motor abilities.
Some months after obtaining therapy in Russia, Peterson and his family moved to Belgrade, Serbia. In Belgrade in June 2020, Peterson made his first public appearance in more than a year when he participated in a segment of his daughter’s podcast. He had returned to his normal self at that point and was cautiously optimistic about his prospects.
Peterson’s daughter did disclose that her father received COVID-19 in August 2020. It took place when he was receiving treatment in Serbia. Two months later, Peterson posted on his YouTube channel that he had returned to Canada and would soon begin working again.
What is the Net Worth of Jordan Peterson? Salary, Earnings
Jordan Peterson’s lack of public disclosure of his personal details, including his financial worth, gives the impression that he is a little private. As of 2023, Jordan’s projected net worth, based on a number of sources, is $8 million. The psychologist himself has not yet validated this information, though.
Jordan routinely uploads photos to his social media accounts, including Instagram, indicating that the psychologist enjoys spending his time and hard-earned money with his family. When he wrote this essay, he had over 6 million followers under the account @jordan.b.peterson. The psychologist has over 1k postings there, so he appears to be quite active.
In addition to other photos of himself with his family, Jordan mostly puts reels of himself giving motivational talks, his ideas, and advice on that website.
