Josephine Melville Passed Away At The Nottingham Playhouse

After acting in a performance at Nottingham Playhouse, Josephine Melville, who played Tessa Parker in the BBC serial EastEnders, passed away backstage. In Natasha Gordon’s piece Nine Night, Melville has been playing Maggie. Nottingham Playhouse made the announcement on October 21 and stated,

We regret to inform you that Josephine Melville, an actress, passed away yesterday night backstage at Nottingham Playhouse when her play Nine Night was being performed. We have informed Josephine’s family, and our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Melville passed away on Thursday, October 20, according to a statement from the theater, and house first responders assisted the now-deceased actress.

A medical expert who was in the audience rushed to assist as well. When the paramedics arrived, Melville had already been pronounced dead. The remaining Nine Night concerts have been canceled, and the cause of Josephine’s passing is yet unknown.

On June 10, 1986, Josephine Melville made her television show debut in EastEnders, and she appeared there every week until July 10, 1986. Only eight episodes or so were devoted to the character, but those episodes were vital to the development of the plot.

Essex-born Josephine Melville gained fame for her performances in EastEnders, The Bill, and Casualty. She was renowned for her numerous theater performances as well. She had an appearance in the “Brave” music video by Ella Henderson.

According to her social media, Melville was an actor, writer, director, producer, and archivist. The South Essex African Caribbean Association was also founded by her (SEACA).

Melville never disclosed any information regarding her personal life. Despite being well-known, she has no Wikipedia entry. Her employment history and academic qualifications have not yet been fully disclosed.
