He later clarified during a press conference that “they were on an aircraft at the moment” (reported by The Buffalo News). The Bills quarterback added that his parents had a premonition that the deal would be signed on that particular day. The deal was, as he said, a “nice birthday surprise” for his mother. He was right.
The deal is a unique, high-paying transaction that records the most money that is assured. According to reports, Allen earned $100 million in the first week following the contract’s signing.
For the first three years of his contract, starting in 2023, he will receive an assured $42 million. He will receive $284 million in total remuneration if he remains with the company through 2028, which includes base pay, guaranteed money, and incentives.

Allen expressed his joy at the surprise he gave his mother after signing the contract during the aforementioned news briefing. He claimed that the existence of such lucrative contracts was what initially drew people to the game.
He claimed that by agreeing, he would be able to support his family while also taking the obligations that came with it. I understand that I have been given this money, but I still need to work for it. The athlete continued by claiming that his situation was fortunate and that he was overjoyed to have reached the goal.
Josh Allen acknowledged the role his sibling played in his success during the discussion. He also emphasized the unwavering love of his family.
He singled out his brother Jason in particular, saying that Jason was proud of him for his success. Allen continued, “And that’s my closest buddy,” before announcing loudly that his sibling is the reason he is succeeding. The NFL player admitted that a lot of people helped him along the way, but he insisted that his brother was the most important.
He continued by saying that as a child, their competition inspired him to achieve his full potential. Allen said of his brother, “I love that guy, he’s my number one fan.”
Along with Jason, Allen also has two sisters named Makenna and Nicola. They were reared on the 2,000-acre farm owned by their family in Firebaugh, California.
Their shared hometown had a big influence on Allen’s development into one of the best passers. No college wanted a player from Firebaugh High School, which is located in a rural area known more for cantaloupe production than sports, to receive a scholarship.
Allen sent over a thousand emails to every Division I head coach in the hopes that they would all respond, but despite the chances, nothing happened. He didn’t initially get any funding offers.
While Allen was certain he wouldn’t give up until he was in the NFL, others weren’t so sure. He registered at a little community institution in the Central Valley. Allen got a scholarship offer from the University of Wyoming after their high schooler, Eric Dungey, relocated to Syracuse. Last but not least, the Buffalo Bills picked him seventh overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.
