With great grief, the Ministry of Defense has announced the demise of Royal Logistic Corps Private Joshua Kennington. He passed away on November 24, 2022, in Catterick following a non-operational event.

Private Kennington was a brave individual who was ever prepared to assist. He was the ultimate representative of their most talented younger generation and a proud RLC Driver.

Josh was empathetic, caring, and always eager to put the needs of others above his own. He, unfortunately, passed away far too young, leaving his devastated family and friends without him. Josh was adored by both his family and friends.

They went on to explain that they would never forget him, no matter where he was, and that he died doing what he loved.

His family’s identity has not yet been made public.

Kennington was praised by Lieutenant Colonel Catherine Masling, Commanding Officer of the 5 Medical Regiment, as an honest, kind-hearted, and moral individual who reinforced the team. His sudden demise “is felt deeply” by the regiment.

Pte Kennington was lauded by Lt Col Catherine Masling, the commanding officer of the 5 Medical Regiment, as a brilliant soldier with maturity beyond his years and a bright future. He was a real professional, she added, ready to benefit from everything the Army had to offer and driven to succeed in any endeavor.
