Molemo Katleho Maarohanye, also known as Jub Jub, is a well-known South African media personality. He is also a well-known hip-hop artist and anchor of popular television programs such as Uyajola 9/9, You Promised to Marry Me, and Uthando Noxolo, which are broadcast on Mojalove DSTV Channel 157.

Sunday World reports that South African rapper and TV host Jub Jub has been arrested and accused of rape, attempted murder, and assault.

Molemo Maarohanye, a former Uyajola 9/9 TV presenter and artist, is expected to face charges of attempted murder, rape, and assault in a Johannesburg court.

According to the article, Maarohanye surrendered to police in Brixton on Thursday, July 27, after an arrest warrant was issued.

“Police can confirm that a well-known rapper turned himself into police in Brixton on Thursday, July 27, 2023, following the issuance of an arrest warrant,” said Mavela Masondo, a spokesperson for the Gauteng police.

In Johannesburg, he is scheduled to appear in court today on charges of rape, attempted murder, and assault.

It is uncertain when the rapper and TV personality perpetrated the crimes. The South African will soon provide additional information regarding this incident.

Cases of murder and rape involving Jub Jub

On March 8, 2010, while under the influence of heavy narcotics, he and his companion Themba Tshabalala engaged in drag racing on a public road near a school, which resulted in a severe collision.

Two additional survivors with brain injury were among the four infants who perished. On December 5, both were sentenced to 25 years in prison for murder, attempted murder, and three other offenses. On February 7, 2014, the court heard an appeal.

On Twitter, Newsroom Afrika reported that the rapper, who appeared in court on charges of rape, attempted murder, and assault, was handed an R10,000 surety.

According to a BBC article published in December 2012, the rapper was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the vehicular homicide fatalities of four pupils.

In 2010, he was judged guilty of impaired driving and street racing in Soweto in October. On January 5, 2017, he was released from custody.
