Judy Nelson Job, education and Career

Pete worked in the construction of normal “ground houses” for several years before moving up into the trees to build treehouses. Then, in 2006, he and Judy created TreeHouse Point, an overnight treehouse retreat center. The TreeHouse Point quickly became a hit because of Pete’s designs and Judy’s “culinary skill.”

In 2012, they embarked on a new adventure with Animal Planet’s Treehouse Masters. They proceeded to spread their roots in this manner, and not long ago, they opened their second treehouse hideaway, Treehouse Utopia in the Texas Hill Country. They collaborated on this with restaurateur Laurel Waters and the Sabinal River, which is emerald green.

She also attended Le Cordon Bleu and studied Art History at Colorado College, where she graduated in 1985. She previously attended Santa Catalina School for Girls, where she graduated in 1981.

Judy and Pete Nelson’s Relationship, Wedding, and Children

Judy and Pete Nelson met during freshman orientation at Colorado College and married after graduation. Pete tenderly posted “34 years ago today I became one of the luckiest men alive” to a photo of them on Instagram on August 10, 2020, the day they celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary.

Clearly, the college sweethearts were inseparable for several years before being declared husband and wife. As a result, they first met in 1981. Pete still can’t stop gushing about that meeting. He would occasionally write things like,

“We’ve been together for 38 years and I’m still amazed at how fortunate it was that our paths crossed when they did#ilovejudy”

They’ve been dating since before Pete discovered he wanted to make a living building treehouse. As a result, Judy has been Pete’s business partner since the mid-1980s. She had already worked in an art gallery, a land-planning agency, and was working as a real estate agent in Seattle when she accepted to join Pete’s team, and she was looking for fresh challenges.

Judy and Pete are the most loving and caring parents of Emily, Henry, and Charlie, their three adult children. The Nelson family works in the family treehouse-building company in Fall City, Washington.

Emily, the chief of staff, is in charge of overseeing Nelson Treehouse projects and personnel, as well as facilitating Treehouse Resort and Spa relationships and planning. She also developed and led their online store, as detailed on their Nelson Treehouse homepage.

Henry and Charlie, the twins — Henry is a carpenter who is a regular member of the night crew and a critical element of the travel team. Charlie is also a carpenter on the construction crew.
