Long-time After ten years, KXAS’s political correspondent Julie Fine is departing the NBC-owned Dallas station. The departure of the political journalist was first reported in late April 2023. In addition to congratulating the presenter on her new role, Napoli Management Group shared the news on Instagram.
The co-host of Lone Star Politics joined KXAS in June 2013. Being the political correspondent for NBC 5, Fine has covered a wide range of subjects. In 2014, the author covered the Governor’s campaign, the 84th and 85th Texas Legislative Sessions, and more.
In a similar manner, she went on location in 2016 to cover the presidential election. According to reports, Fine traveled with U.S. Senator Ted Cruz from Iowa to Indiana while he was running for president. Cruz stopped after arriving in Indiana. Salary and New Job for Julie Fine
After working as a political reporter for an NBC-owned Dallas station for eleven years, Julie Fine was hired as the Texas Bureau Chief for Bloomberg. Many of the journalist’s fans and viewers sent their best wishes for success in her new role. Fine tweeted her appreciation. ”

The gorgeous TV host considered her co-host to be “the greatest partner and an even finer person.” The departing political reporter for NBC 5 signed goodbye by promising to speak with her when she starts working for Bloomberg as Texas Bureau Chief in Dallas.
The Emmy-winning journalist’s new duties include helping her coworkers, setting up high-profile interviews, and promoting Texas bureaus. According to reports, she will appear on the political show “Balance of Power.” The talented journalist will also be able to work with Joe Carroll in Houston, Brendan Walsh in Austin, and Ed Dufner in Dallas to oversee coverage across the region and offer information across all platforms.
Her new compensation has not been disclosed. However, according to Zip Recruiter, a Texas Bureau Chief’s annual compensation is on average $76,557. Julie, however, must be paid more than the average due to her position and industry experience.
Julie Fine graduated from Tulane University
Renowned writer Julie Fine studied at North Texas’ Tulane University. Since she is a local, she has a few close friends there. After graduating, she told her friends that she would move to North Texas to get a career and then join them. When she was hired there, Fine was ecstatic.
In Washington, D.C., Julie started her professional career. She worked as a production assistant and field producer. Soon after, she decided to work as a reporter and in 1999 she started at WJET-TV. After that, the seasoned journalist relocated to Buffalo, New York, where she spent the next eight years working for WKBW-TV until 2010. In June 2013, Fine was recruited by KXAS, NBC 5 Dallas/Fort Worth, following about three years at WPXI-TV.
