At the age of 21, the East of the Mountains star married young artist Charlotte R Shanks and had a child. Skerritt was married to his first wife from 1957 to 1972. During the final years of his marriage, the actor struggled. His wife was mentally ill, and he was struggling to provide for their three children.
Colin Skerritt, the actor’s eldest son, is still estranged from him. Skerritt is held accountable for not being a present parent. His second-oldest daughter, Erin, a poet, expressed sympathy for her father and said she understood what he was going through. He used to bring his kids to the set and try to take care of them because their mother was sick, but he didn’t have the time.
Skerritt thus raised his children as single parents until his second marriage to Susan Ellen Aran. The couple was married for 15 years, from 1977 to 1992. Colin is Skerritt and Susan’s son. The couple purchased a home on Lopez Island in 1980 and established a bed and breakfast there. Skerritt’s marriage to Susan, however, did not last. They divorced in 1992. The reason for their divorce was never disclosed.
Tokashiki, Tom Skerritt’s third wife, was introduced to him
Tom Skerritt met his third wife, Tokashiki, a Fox studio executive, while filming Picket Fences. According to The Seattle Times, his wife was skeptical on the first date, but Skerritt turned out to be a soulmate and romantic. They were married in 1998. In a subsequent interview, the Alien actor said of his wife, “she’s powerful, lovely.”
“I look at her with admiration and wonder as to who she is.” “She’s really a fantastic work of art,” he added.
Skerritt, 86, became a father in 2007 when he and his wife adopted Emi, a 12-year-old daughter. Emi was described as a formidable adolescent by him. Skerritt’s four other children have all found their calling. His son, Andy, is a computer expert. Matt is a filmmaker and creative director.
Collin has dabbled in acting and is best known for his role in Tuscaloosa (2002). Even at the age of 87, the actor had no plans to retire. Instead, he received his first starring role in East of the Mountains at the age of 88. Throughout his six-decade acting career, he has worked in nearly every film genre.
Skerritt is known as a workaholic. When he is not performing, he runs Triple Squirrels, a film studio he co-founded with his 34-year wife. In his spare time, the actor enjoys writing, painting, and playing tennis.
