Wen Junhui, well known as Jun was born in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, on June 10, 1996. He has a 25-year-old son. Jun is a musician and actor best known as a member of the Pledis Entertainment-managed South Korean K-pop boy group Seventeen. He is a member of the group’s Performance Unit sub-unit.

Jun grew raised in Shenzhen and understood as a child that he wanted to work in the entertainment industry. At the age of two, he began working on professional projects, beginning with advertisements, and three years later, he worked on his first Chinese television series, “Flying Drag – the Special Unit.” Over the next few years, he continued to act, and in 2006, his performance in the film “The Pye Dog” earned him the Hong Kong Film Directors’ Guild’s Best New Performer Award.

In 2010, he portrayed a youthful version of the eponymous character in the film “The Legend is Born: Ip Man,” which is based on the grandmaster of the martial artist Wing Chun, Ip Man. Following that, he began on a new road after Pledis Entertainment approached him about a prospective career as a K-pop idol. He accepted and moved to South Korea to train for the following two years.

Jun began appearing as a trainee in web broadcasts of the show “Seventeen TV,” which included all future members of the boy band Seventeen. They were seen rehearsing for their roles in the play, which also served as an introduction for each member of the group. Following the airing of a pre-debut reality show titled “Seventeen Project: Big Debut Plan” on MBC, their actual debut created history as the first time a male K-pop group made their debut on a major television network in a one-hour special.

A few days after their debut, they published their first extended play (EP) called “17 Carat,” which swiftly won them international attention. They followed it up with a second EP, “Boys Be,” and the popularity of these two led to a slew of prizes. They then played a few shows before releasing their debut studio album, “Love & Letter,” in 2016. Because their music was becoming successful in Japan, they embarked on their first Asian tour before releasing their third EP, “Going Seventeen.” They were also awarded platinum status for their Japanese single “Happy Ending.”

Later that year, they published their third studio album, “An Ode,” which sold over 700,000 copies in its first week, won Album of the Year and was recognized by Billboard.
