Justin Bieber-inspired collection from H&M has been discontinued after the singer called it “crap.” The T-shirt, sweater, tote bag, and phone accessory collection, according to the 28-year-old, was not approved by him.
The Sorry singer begged fans not to purchase the goods, which he claimed were being sold without his permission or agreement, in a post on his Instagram Story.
While claiming that the right protocols were followed, the business has since removed the line.
On Tuesday, Justin posted a message on his Instagram account with the caption, “The H&M Merch they manufactured out of me is trash and I didn’t approve it.” “Stop buying it.
He said, “I didn’t approve any of the merchandise collection that they put up at H&M.
“All without my knowledge or consent. If I were you, I wouldn’t purchase it.
H&M defended the clothing line in a statement, which purportedly includes pictures of the celebrity.
A representative for the fashion business said, “As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M followed proper approval procedures.
But “we have withdrawn the clothes from our stores and online out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber.”
It’s not the first time a celebrity has criticized a company for utilizing their likeness without their consent.
Rihanna won a legal battle against Topshop in 2015; she sued the retailer’s parent company for £3.3 million after it sold a sleeveless T-shirt using her image.
And in 2019, Ariana Grande filed a lawsuit against Forever 21 after claiming the retailer released at least 30 “unauthorized” pictures and videos that gave the impression she was an ambassador for the company.
Following a diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt syndrome, Justin announced he was experiencing facial paralysis and is currently taking a vacation from touring.
When a shingles outbreak affects the facial nerve close to a person’s ears, it causes Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which causes paralysis of some facial muscles.
