The actress, 28, announced the news in a video that was uploaded to Instagram. It is clear from Justin Bieber’s video that the paralyzed part of his face is immobile. Both the side-eye and the lips are not blinking. Therefore, Justin ends by saying that he needs to unwind till he gets back to work.
After receiving multiple comments from worried fans while canceling past tours and performances in Toronto, Washington, DC, and New York, Justin Bieber decided to offer an update on his health on social media. Additionally, he said:
“Therefore, I apologize to anyone who was saddened by my cancellations of the scheduled shows. I just cannot do them due to my medical limitations. This is a dreadful scenario, as you can see.
In the three-minute video, Justin Bieber tries and fails to blink and smile. One side of Justin’s face is paralyzed by the sickness and is unable to respond. Additionally, Justin Bieber has asked his fans to pray for him because he is paralyzed and unable to eat. He stated:
Please pray for me because eating has been increasingly difficult. It has been quite annoying.
But Justin asserted in the video message that he is currently on complete rest and has been performing various face exercises prescribed by the doctor to go back to normal as quickly as possible. He has been told to postpone all tours and performances till he gets better. He continues by saying he doesn’t know how long it will take him to feel better.
What is the Ramsay Hunt Syndrome exactly?
The Grammy Award-winning musician has a rare disease where the Shingles virus kills a facial nerve next to the ear. The virus that causes chickenpox is varicella-zoster.
The virus causes swelling and inflammation of the nerves when it enters the body, which results in facial paralysis on that side.
Other signs include severe eye pain, an itchy rash, possible hearing loss, and facial paralysis, which Justin demonstrates in his video as the inability to close one eye while making gestures and expressions. While the sickness may last for several months or years and cause some irreversible harm, the physical changes in the body may only be temporary.
Justin Bieber has previously spoken openly about his health problems. He disclosed that he has Lyme disease in 2020. This illness is the root cause of chronic anxiety. The musician acknowledged using antidepressants and hyperbaric oxygen therapy to address his illness. In terms of his career, Bieber’s most recent album was released in March 2021 and met with great success.
