Kaity began working for WKaity Tong-TV in New York City in 1981. She was promoted to co-anchor within two years, working alongside Tom Snyder and Ernie Anastos.

She’s also worked as a newscaster for TV shows and films like Spider-Man, City Hall, Marci X, and Night Falls on Manhattan. In 1992, she was named the station’s primary female anchor. Surprisingly, she is still working for the station. She was the first woman to receive the Star Award from Rotary International and the New York Women’s Agenda. She was also named Distinguished Woman by the Chinese-American Planning Council.
