Despite being embroiled in several issues due to his recent behavior, rapper Kanye West has declared his intention to run for US president in 2024.
The celebrity, whose name is now Ye legally, released a video of his campaign logo on social media with the comment Ye 24.
Additionally, he asserted that he asked Donald Trump to serve as his running mate.
West attempted to run for president in 2020, but that effort failed, garnering only 70,000 votes.
His most recent assertions were made in a video that was published after West and renowned white nationalist Nick Fuentes were sighted at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf club earlier this week.
West claimed that the former president, having just started his reelection campaign, was “very agitated” by his request for a running mate.
West stated the following in a video titled Mar-A-Lago Debrief: “At the table, Trump started yelling at me that I was going to lose. Has anyone in history ever had success with that?”
West’s campaign has begun while the rapper deals with a lot of negative controversies.
After visiting Paris Fashion Week wearing a T-shirt with the slogan “White Lives Matter,” which white nationalists started using in 2015 as a retort to the Black Lives Matter campaign, he sparked a firestorm of outrage.
Kanye West then made the stereotypical antisemitic accusation that his detractors were being funded by a hidden Jewish cabal.
The 45-year-talent old’s agency dropped him when he continued to post antisemitic remarks online and during television interviews, and fashion brands like Gap, Adidas, and Balenciaga declared they would no longer collaborate with him.
Later on, the artist said he had lost “two billion bucks in one day.”
Earlier last week, Rolling Stone magazine published allegations that West had fostered a “toxic environment” among Adidas staffers who were working on his Yeezy brand of shoes by using “porn, bullying, and mind games.”
The business announced on Thursday that an impartial examination into the claims had been started.
West announced his 2020 presidential campaign too late to be included on the ballot in at least six states.
He only hosted one demonstration, during which he sobbed as he spoke about abortion, and he contributed money to two television commercials. In the end, just 12 states had him listed as a contender.
The rapper said that alt-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos served as his campaign manager for his 2024 run.
After a video surfaced in 2017 showing Mr. Yiannopoulos appearing to support pedophilia, mainstream conservatives mostly abandoned the former editor of the right-wing website Breitbart. He described the remarks as “gallows humor” and expressed his “disgust” at the sexual exploitation of children.
Mr. Yiannopolous most recently served as Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican congresswoman, as an intern.
