After having his Instagram account banned for many weeks, rapper Kanye West returned to the platform and talked about how sponsors had dropped him as a result of his anti-semitic rants.
Recently, Kanye West has been in the news due to an ongoing issue regarding anti-Semitic comments the musician made. Several brands that the rapper had a close working relationship with abandoned him as a client as a result of his comments. West returned to Instagram after having his account first banned as a result of his comments.
The rapper responded to brands rejecting him on Instagram by demanding to “see the contracts.” As he addressed his return to Instagram, Kanye also referred to Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, in his remarks about being permitted to be on his platform once again.
“Let’s see the contracts/ The film contracts/ The sports contracts/ The music contracts/ The mortgages,” wrote Kanye in his post. Let’s look at the contracts so that we can or, better yet, would conduct business more effectively, he continued, “I’ve been beaten into a pulp and there’s still no accountability.”
In one day, Kanye loses USD 2 billion
West also responded to Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, who last week pushed businesses to quit dealing with West amid the rapper being dumped by brands, writing, “Emanuel Ari. In a single day, I lost two billion dollars. I’m still here, too.
These are words of affection. Still, I adore you. God still cares about you. Money does not define who I am. I am a person of the people.” In the past week, West has lost relationships with Adidas, The Gap, and Balenciaga, had his Essentials playlist removed from Apple Music, and been dropped by his CAA reps. According to rumors, Foot Locker stopped sales of his products and TJ Maxx removed them from their shelves.
Kanye’s a comeback to Twitter
Kanye also appeared to return to Twitter after being suspended there following Elon Musk’s appointment as CEO of SpaceX. Musk assumed control of Twitter on Thursday, sacking key executives and offering little explanation of how he plans to realize the goals he has set forth for the significant social media company.
Additionally, he pledged to lift Donald Trump’s suspension from Twitter. However, Musk said on Friday that he had nothing to do with Kanye West’s account being reinstated after it had been previously suspended following the rapper’s posting of anti-Semitic slurs.
Kanye was recently asked to leave the Skechers headquarters in California after showing up uninvited one day after Adidas severed their collaboration with the musician.
