Kari Lake’s political career has had many highs and lows, as well as multiple party switches.
Prior to switching her registration to independent in November 2006, she was a Republican party member.
After Barack Obama won the Democratic presidential primary in Iowa in January 2008, she changed her political affiliation to Democrat.
However, Lake switched back to being a Republican in January 2012.
She ran numerous campaigns before being selected as the Republican candidate for governor of Arizona in the November 2022 election.
She was referred to as a champion of the US far-right movement when she obtained Donald Trump’s endorsement in September 2021.
Kari, however, was defeated by Democrat contender Katie Hobbs in the election by a margin of more than 17000 votes.
While Katie received 1,287,891 votes, she garnered 1,270,774 votes.
Following the outcome, Kari refused to accept her defeat out of shock and instead filed a lawsuit, claiming there had been an error in the counting.
She recently lost the lawsuit, and on January 2, 2023, Hobbs took office as governor of Arizona.
