Katherine “Kate” Brown (born June 21, 1960) is an American politician and attorney who has been the 38th Governor of Oregon since February 2015.
She is a Democrat who served in the Oregon House of Representatives for three terms from 1991 to 1997, the Oregon Senate for three terms from 1997 to 2009, the Oregon Senate Majority Leader for three years from 2003 to 2009, and the Oregon Secretary of State for two terms from 2009 to 2015.
