He declared,

“You never stop grieving; the pain never goes away, even after 11 years.”

Stanley went on to say that Kate wouldn’t want anyone to spend the rest of their lives in grief. He argues that everyone should continue living their lives as she would have. Tucci continued,

However, you can’t let it. … she would never want any of us to let that sorrow control our lives and wallow in it. That is not what she would ever want. That wasn’t how she was.

Stanley, Kate’s partner, also received a cancer diagnosis.

A 3-cm tumor at the base of his tongue was discovered to have been diagnosed in 2017 by the late celebrity Kate’s ex-husband. According to Tucci, the tumor was too large to remove surgically. To remove the tumor, they therefore looked for high-dose radiation and chemotherapy.

Thankfully, the tumor disappeared following seven chemotherapy sessions and a 35-day radiation treatment. But Stanley found the aftermath to be quite difficult.

He had to rely on a feeding tube to eat and drink for months after the therapy session seriously impairing his sense of taste and smell. He expresses gratitude to Felicity, his wife, for looking after him and sticking with him.

Tucci claims that Blunt’s “unwavering love, support, and care” helped him get through his sickness.

He is still experiencing certain treatment side effects as of 2022, such as some foods tasting strange to him and hot foods hurting him. The irony is that Stanley is an avid food enthusiast who has written a book titled Taste: My Life Through Food.
