Despite her initial denial, Kathleen eventually had to face the truth, and she felt betrayed by her husband. In reality, Kathleen claimed to many news organizations that she was unaware of Jared’s deeds and claimed that “he had two lives going on.”

She also spoke about her divorce in a 2016 CBS interview, asking, “I mean, how could anyone think that I would stay married to a man and have children with a man who was doing this?” because she was aware that some people would accuse her of being complicit in her husband’s crimes. Of course, I wouldn’t be there. Naturally, I won’t remain with him. “I had no idea.”
Jared ultimately entered a plea guilty in November 2015 to one count of both traveling to engage in illegal sexual activity with a minor and distributing and receiving child pornography. He was therefore charged with sex charges and given a prison term of 15 years and 8 months.
The judge also gave him a life sentence with supervised release, fines totaling $225,000, and restitution costs totaling $1.4 million. Jared’s actions shocked Kathleen, but she didn’t think he was the only one responsible for the atrocities. Instead, Kathleen claimed that Subway, his employer, was aware of the crimes and sued them in 2016 for failing to act on reports about Jared’s conduct.
But a judge ultimately decided to dismiss the complaint in 2017. Currently, Kathleen is embracing her seclusion while caring for her children alone. She fights to avoid letting the past influence her future even though she wishes to keep her private life private because she has made a life with her loved ones.
