On March 27, Keano Byrne was reported missing, and GMP started an investigation right once. Two males, 26 and 30, were detained by GMP as part of a murder inquiry involving the disappearance of Keano, a Gorton resident.
GMP, however, said today that the 26-year-old had been exonerated of any involvement in the crime. The 30-year-old was granted bail and freed.

Keano Byrne was last seen on March 26 near Northumberland Road in Brinnington while walking with another man toward Reddish Vale. His missing person report was made in March.
After then, there was no more evidence of his disappearance, but on April 7, 2023, Keano Byrnes’s body was discovered in a river near Stockport.
Divers, Tactical Aid Unit cops, and specialized search teams all participated in the search. The inquiry is still underway, and the public has not yet been informed of the eventual outcome. His cause of death is hence uncertain.

“We are asking for anyone in the Reddish Vale area on Sunday, March 26, between 3.30 am and 6.30 am, or people who might have seen Keano after the time he went missing, do not hesitate to get in touch with police,” the Detective Chief Inspector added.
