Political and sports commentator Keith Olbermann works for ESPN. Before joining CNN in 1981, at a time when the network was just getting off the ground, Olbermann launched his career at UPI and the RKO Radio Network. He served as a sportscaster for the former WNEW 1130-AM radio station in New York City from the early to mid-1980s. He covered the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, including a report on the “Miracle on Ice.” Similar to this, he worked as a sports anchor at WCVB-TV in Boston for a brief time in 1984 before moving to Los Angeles to work at KTLA and KCBS.
