According to the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, Block was killed instantly after being crushed by his snowmobile in an accident.
Block was traveling on a steep hill in the Mill Hollow region west of Woodland, Utah, when his snowmobile “upended, falling on top of him,” according to officials. When the incident occurred, Block was traveling with a group but was alone. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On Tuesday (AEDT), the Hooligan Racing Division reported Block’s death in Utah. Block had just returned from a family ski holiday, which he had documented on Instagram.
Block, who was born in 1967 in Long Beach, California, was introduced to motorsports at a young age and rapidly acquired a love of racing. He began his career in rallycross and gymkhana competitions before becoming a full-time professional rally driver in 2009.
