The New Year began with the deaths of Davonta Harris (age 30) and Abdul Hakeem Van Croskey (age 24) in a shooting in Florida.
While traveling on a steep hill in the Mill Hollow area west of Woodland, Utah, at around 2:00 pm, Block’s snowmobile “upended, falling on top of him,” as reported by officials. Although he had been traveling with others, Block was by himself when the incident occurred. His death was officially confirmed there.
Block’s passing in Utah was reported by the Hooligan Racing Division on Tuesday (AEDT). After a snowy family vacation, which Block documented on Instagram, Block came home.
Block, who was born in Long Beach, California, in 1967, discovered motorsports at an early age and fell in love with racing immediately. He got his start in the sport in rallycross and gymkhana competitions and by 2009 was a full-time pro.
