Biography of Kim Yugyeom
Kim Yugyeom was born on November 17, 1997, in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. Kim is a 23-year-old South Korean singer. He revealed in an interview that he was conceived in Saudi Arabia and born in South Korea. Yugyeom and his family relocated to Namyangju, where he grew up with his older brother.
Education
Yugyeom finished elementary school at Donong Elementary School before transferring to Migeum Middle School. Kim attended Hanlim Arts High School and majored in street dance. He attended Taekyung University after graduating from high school to pursue a modeling degree.
While in Taekyung, he met his bandmate Youngjae, who was also studying modeling at the same university. Yugyeom speaks Korean, and Japanese, plus a little English and Chinese.

Career
Yugyeom has loved to dance since he was a toddler. He competed in dance competitions and won a number of them. Yugyeom was discovered while attending a dance school by one of JYP Entertainment’s staff. He eventually secured a position as a trainee there. He was the fifth member of the Got7 group to be hired.
Yugyeom appeared as a trainee in Mnet’s survival show “Who is Next: WIN” in 2013, alongside his teammates Mark, BamBAm, and Jackson.
He made his debut as the primary dancer, vocalist, and rapper of the South Korean boy band Got7 with the song ‘Girls Girls Girls’ on January 1, 2014.
Yugyeom and his bandmates also made their acting debut in ‘Dream Knight,’ a web drama. He also won a dance competition with other k-pop group dancers like IOI’s Kim Chungha, Block B’s U-Kwon, SNSD’s Hyoyeon, NCT’s Ten, and Monsta X’s Shownu.
