Kirk went on to serve as the convention’s executive director in 1990.
In 1992, Franklin founded “The Family,” a seventeen-voice choir composed of neighbors and close friends. The same year, Vicki Mack-Lataillade, the co-founder of budding record company GospoCentric, inked Kirk & The Family to a recording deal.
