Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully today at lunchtime encircled by his family and bandmates, left Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan, and the rest of the Wanted family inconsolable.
Tom’s wife Kelsey continued, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we affirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side. The 33-year-old was identified as having a grade 4 glioblastoma, an incurable brain tumor, in October 2020.
Tom Parker’s approximate net worth was $8 million at the time of his passing; this fortune was accumulated while he was a member of the best-selling group The Wanted, which started in 2009 and disbanded in 2014. Furthermore, Tom traveled the globe with the band from Bolton, Manchester, of which he was one of five members.
Tom Parker’s Line of Work
He started playing the guitar at an early age and even went on the X-Factor auditions before quitting Manchester Metropolitan University to focus on his singing career.
Tom was selected to join The Wanted in 2009 after auditions were conducted by Jayne Collins, who also started The Saturdays and Parade. All Time Low, their first song, debuted in 2010 and reached the top spot. Two more songs were then released by them; both singles, Heart Vacancy and Lose My Mind, reached the charts.
Before calling it quits in January 2014, the group released three recordings and toured the globe. The band debuted its own E! reality series, The Wanted Life, in 2013, following their enormous popularity in the US.
In October 2020, Tom announced on Instagram that he had been given a brain tumor diagnosis.
Before disclosing that he had conducted an exclusive interview with Ok explaining everything, he said, “There’s no easy way to say it, but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour, and I’m already undergoing treatment.”
We are all devastated, but we are determined to beat this off. We want your love and positivity, not your sorrow, he continued, and by working together, we can bring attention to this terrible illness.
He disclosed that the tumor had shrunk by a “significant amount” in January 2021.
I’ve been saying these lines to myself nonstop since I heard them today. “The results of the MRI scan I had on Tuesday showed that the tumor has significantly shrunk, and I am responding well to treatment,” he said.
He continued by thanking the NHS, his wife Kelsey, his kids, and his supporters for their never-ending support. After that, his health sadly deteriorated, and on March 30, 2022, the star of The Wanted passed away from cancer.
