Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have been married since September 4, 1988. As of this writing, that is approximately 34 years of marriage.
The couple has two children from their long marriage: son Travis Bacon, born in June 1989, and daughter Sosie Bacon, born in March 1992.
Many have been inspired by Sedgwick and Bacon’s relationship over the years, as the two have remained together through thick and thin.

In an interview with Conan O’Brien in August 2012, the Golden Globes winner discussed her marriage to Bacon. In doing so, she revealed that her husband, who is also an actor, was skeptical of their marriage.
“He never expected it [the relationship] to last,” she said.
Despite her feelings, her husband was the one who first showed interest in her and kept inviting her out to dinner.
As per her, she and Bacon first met while working on the 1987 film Lemon Sky.
“Every night after work — he was known for being extremely friendly and sweet — he would invite the entire crew and ask who wanted to go out to dinner. Except for me, the entire cast would say yes “She remembered.
But she was the only person he ever wanted to say yes to. “Later on, he told me that the only person he wanted to say yes to was me, and I never said yes,” she added.
After weeks of pursuing her, he was finally able to secure a date with her. And, as they say, the rest is history.
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick Soon Had Two Children
Bacon, who famously played Ren McCormack in the 1984 musical drama film Footloose, proposed to his wife a year after they met, and she happily accepted.
The couple eventually married in September 1988.
They didn’t put off becoming parents for long, either, as they welcomed their first child, son Travis, just a year after their wedding.
“I was like, ‘God, I want to make sure there’s a good place here for him the minute I had a child,'” Sedgwick told Glamour in 2019. “[Kevin and I] are both people who are inspired to act, and we enjoy being a part of giving back. It is our obligation.”
They had their second child, daughter Sosie, a few years later.
The Couple Has Passed Several Marriage Tests
Sedgwick and Bacon have had their ups and downs as professional actors, married couples, and parents over the years.
The two, on the other hand, have passed every test thrown their way.
Bacon stated on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in April 2021 that the quarantine phase was the ultimate test of his marriage to Sedgwick.
During this time, the couple realized that they “kind of have to” separate from each other in order for things to run smoothly. As a result, they separated during the day and reconnected later for meals.
The actor stated that, despite the unconventional approach, the couple enjoyed the routine and it helped them build a stronger connection.
