The urban R&B group Destiny’s Child was founded in the 1990s by LaTavia Roberson, Beyonce Knowles, LeToya Luckett, and Kelendria Rowland.

When Beyonce’s father took over as the group’s manager, the five-piece was well on its way to becoming well-known.

The band immediately developed a sizable fan base in the region because of their street-cool demeanor and superb vocal harmonies.

Following the securing of a record deal with Columbia Records, they put out Killing Time, which was included on the Men In Black album.

They collaborated with renowned R&B/hip-hop producers Timbaland, R. Kelly, and Wyclef Jean for their 1998 self-titled first album.
