Laura became the third British woman to win a Diamond League title when she won the 1500m gold in Zurich on August 27, 2016, lowering her Personal Best and National 1500m record to 3:55.22.

At the Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix on February 18, 2017, she surpassed Kelly Holmes’ previous British 1000-meter record of 2:31.93, and on January 4, 2018, she shattered the nation’s indoor 5000-meter record of 14.49.12.
