Lauren Betts Sexuality | Is She Transgender | Gender And Family Details

Lauren Betts

Lauren Betts’ sexuality has been a fiercely disputed topic during her remarkable playing career. Many people wonder if she is transgender; is this true?

Some suspicions about Lauren’s sexual orientation spread owing to her unusually high stature of 6 feet 7 inches (2.01 m). The Standford University alum, however, never reacted to the charges. Lauren Betts, a basketball player from Spain, immigrated to the United States with her family when she was in third grade.

She continued her basketball career at Grandview High School, where she averaged 17.2 points, 11 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks per game as a senior. Betts is now a UCLA Bruins basketball player, having joined the team as a sophomore transfer in 2023. She formerly attended Standford University (2022-23) and played for the Cardinal, who won the Pac-12 title in 2023. As a freshman at Stanford, she averaged 5.9 points and 3.5 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per game.

Lauren Betts Sexuality and Gender: Is She Transgender?

Betts is not transgender, even though her body and slightly masculine look have raised various questions about her gender identity. Lauren is a biological female with a straight sexual orientation. The 2021 FIBA Under-19 World Cup gold medalist stands 6 feet 7 inches tall and has a strong build.

It is uncommon to see a female athlete taller than 6 feet 5 inches compete, such as Lauren. There’s no denying she drew a lot of attention, including some fan conjecture regarding her sexuality.

Betts will join the league’s tallest players, including Brittney Griner (6 ft. 9 in. ), Kalani Brown (6 ft. 7 in. ), Teaira McCowan (6 ft. 7 in. ), Azura Stevens (6 ft. 6 in. ), and Jonquel Jones (6 ft. 6 in.). Layshia Clarendon is the WNBA’s lone transgender player; she also identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns.

Who Are Lauren’s Cousins? Age and Parents

Lauren Betts was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, on October 15, 2003, to college players Andrew Richard Betts and Michelle Betts. Betts, who is of mixed origin and American nationality, will be 20 in 2023. Andrew, a former British basketball player, was drafted in the second round by the Charlotte Hornets in 1998.

Rather than stay in the NBA, he tours the world with basketball clubs (Italy, Greece, and Spain). Michelle, on the other hand, is a Brooklyn native who grew up in Colorado as an Air Force child. While playing volleyball at Long Beach State, she met Andrew (Lauren’s father).

She is now working as a real estate agent with West and Main Homes (2021-present). Betts’ parents are now divorced and, as previously noted, live five minutes apart. They collaborate to raise their children. Lauren is the eldest of four siblings, including Sienna Betts (born October 3, 2006) and two boys, Dylan and Ashton. Sienna, her younger sister, is a UCLA pledge and plays basketball at Grandview High School (class of 2025).
