He eventually moved to South Korea to pursue his dream of becoming a K-pop superstar. His career began when he participated in the TV show ‘Stray Kids,’ which was created by the well-known organization ‘JYP Entertainment.’ It quickly acquired fame, leading to the release of its first album, ‘Hellevator,’ in 2017.

They made their official debut in March of the same year after releasing their first mixtape prior to their formal debut in January 2018. Three more song sets, several individual songs, and different music videos were released by the band. Lee Felix’s Parents Didn’t Want Him To Be A K-Pop Star

Lee Felix grew up in a typical Asian family. Despite living in Australia, Lee Felix’s parents ensured that he maintained ties to his Korean background. Mr. Lee is a businessman from Sydney, and Mrs. Lina is a stay-at-home mother. Although Lee’s admirers are ignorant of them, several interviews with Lee Felix show that he struggled growing up in a rigid traditional Asian household.

Lee Felix’s father, Mr. Lee, encouraged him to learn taekwondo. Felix eventually learned taekwondo and won multiple awards in the sport. Lina Lee’s mother, like his father, set high standards for her son and encouraged him to learn to play the piano. This ignited the singer’s interest in music.

Lee Felix may not have enjoyed taekwondo as much as he enjoyed music, but he couldn’t say no to his father, so he continued to participate in the sport until one day he decided he didn’t.

He was incredibly persuasive about returning to Korea after achieving his dream of being a K-pop star. Lee Felix’s parents were happy that he had come home, but they were opposed to him becoming a K-pop celebrity. They were ardent Christians who did not want their children involved in anything they despised.

Did Lee Felix Really Hurt His Parents’ Feelings?

Lee discusses how he had to deal with familial concerns early in his career. Lee Felix stated in an exclusive interview,

I’d show them my work, but they’d never answer. It took some convincing to persuade my folks that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.

He went on to add that his parents were aware of reports of K-pop singers committing suicide, using drugs, being bullied by fans, and suffering from emotional abuse. Lee Felix’s parents envisioned their son as a prominent taekwondo player or musician. They had not expected their youngster to be interested in K-pop. Lee admits that his choices irritated his parents, but he also claims that he felt suffocated when he obeyed his parents’ expectations of being a disciplined Catholic.

During his rise to fame, a lot of false material regarding his sexuality made headlines. False rumors regarding his sexual orientation were being propagated. Felix’s parents were vehemently opposed to this, fearing it would ruin their relationship with their son. Lee’s sister Rachel was upset to see her brother’s personal life being ruined on the internet, so she tweeted: My brother’s sexuality is his decision; whether he is bisexual or not, his music and career as a K-pop star should come first.
