Leslie Griffith, a well-known author, and journalist, was born on January 1st, 1956. She started her career as a journalist and news anchor at KTVU for 25 years after working at the Associated Press and The Denver Post.

She was the general assignment reporter and anchor for the San Francisco Bay Area’s Original Ten O’clock News for 22 years at KTVU. For nine years, Griffith was the only weekend news anchor, and she spent her 25th birthday covering the Cold War in Moscow.

She was able to gather information and fabricate stories despite operating under difficult circumstances. She was regarded as an authority on breaking news and the only person who could provide details when significant news was making international headlines.

Leslie made sure that people were informed about everything that was happening across the world. She has relentlessly pushed to get all the elephants removed from the circuses over the years, emphasizing the TB problem with circus elephants. To help young women, she founded the Leslie R. Griffith Woman of Courage Scholarship in 2005.

After leaving KTVU in 2006, she started contributing to online publications like The Huffington Post and the San Francisco Chronicle.
