Hawkins was later featured in several documentaries as a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd. In 1978, she appeared in A Tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd, a short documentary directed by Alan J. Shalleck and written by Frank Gehrecke.

She went on to star in the 1996 documentary Freebird… The Movie. She starred in Stephen Kijak’s biographical musical documentary If I Leave Here Tomorrow: A Film About Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2018. She appeared in Jonathan Braucher’s documentary, I’ll Never Forget You: The Last 72 Hours of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the following year.
