The stillborn child of rapper T.I. and singer-songwriter Tameka Cottle was named Leyah Amore Harris. Even though Leyah passed away more than ten years ago, there is still some mystery surrounding her cause of death.

August 2004 saw the birth of T.I. and Cottle’s son Clifford “King” Harris III, marking their first childbirth. Three years later, the couple revealed they were expecting a daughter for their second child. Sadly, a tragic end to the pregnancy occurred.
The singer shared her experiences with pregnancy difficulties in an exclusive interview with Essence Magazine. She said that the sac containing her unborn child was broken in two and had not come back together since the 16-week mark.
The infant was “positioned in the middle of those two sacs,” according to the Grammy Award-winning musician. The fetus “may get tied up in her umbilical cord,” the experts added.
Despite the doctor’s repeated warnings, Cottle never considered losing the child. Cottle saw the specialist six months after giving birth, and the visit had disastrous results. Says she
“They discovered there was no heartbeat when I visited the specialist.”
The distraught mother was unable to leave the hospital after the baby’s death without bringing the little girl with her.
The performer stated to the publication,
At six months of age, I gave her the name Lelah Amore. I have pictures and roses [from the funeral] near nearfound. I’m going to go home without a baby, even though I’m in the hospital to give birth.
I spent the entire day in the room with Lelah after she was born. After they put her in the small basket, we clothed her and covered her with a blanket. They came to get her because her body had become chilly, and I wanted her to be warm again so I could keep her. That may seem absurd to some, but all I needed was to be with her.

Leyah’s family planned a lovely funeral for their late infant daughter. Their family members as well as a few others were present.
Furthermore, Cottle acknowledged that she only seldom goes to the grave since it’s “too sad” on “holidays and special days.”

“Our relationship got closer as a result of it. I avoided thinking about it by surrounding myself with lots of people, which helped me feel less depressed.
