Two teens from the neighborhood died in an automobile accident on Friday, according to representatives from Wayne Hills High School.

One of the youngsters who died in a vehicle accident over the weekend was Liam Pakonis. Currently, his friends and family are in mourning.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), adolescent fatalities in the US are most often caused by automobile accidents.

2,375 minors between the ages of 13 and 19 lost their lives in car accidents in 2019. There were 1,140 drivers and 1,235 passengers out of them.

In addition, statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) show that teens are more likely to be involved in car accidents.

2019 saw a roughly threefold increase in the fatal collision rate per mile traveled for drivers between the ages of 16 and 19.

Teenage drivers are disproportionately represented in fatal collisions, even though total motor vehicle crash rates have decreased in recent years.

One of the main causes of deadly adolescent car accidents is inexperience, along with distractions, speeding, and not utilizing seat belts.

After hearing of the accident, Township Councilwoman Fran Ritter sent her sympathies in a social media post.

She prayed for the two youngsters’ families, friends, teachers, coaches, and any other acquaintances.

Ritter said that Liam was her son’s teammate on the Wayne Hills Swim Team and that both of the adolescents were classmates of her children.

According to Ritter, the whole Patriot community is mourning and heartbroken for the loss. Information concerning the event, such as its location, is not yet known.
