To receive treatment for prostate cancer, Lin Brehmer is taking a leave of absence. The illness that the radio personality has been suffering has gotten worse over time.

The unfortunate circumstances will make Brehmer’s recuperation difficult. At the announcement, he said:
I’ll start a protracted course of chemotherapy on Monday. I must take a vacation from my radio show right away.
Brehmer stated that following his performance on July 15, he would begin his leave of absence. Additionally, he said:
Please provide me with the same courtesy you have always done. I’ll miss our daily conversations, but perhaps this will pass and one day soon I’ll happily announce on 93XRT, “It’s Friday.” Life is fantastic,'” you say.
Overview of Lin Brehmer
Born on August 19, 1954, Lin Brehmer attended Colgate University and began his radio career during the summer semester by filling in at the school’s WRCU-FM radio station.
In 1976, he obtained his diploma. In January 1977, Lin started her radio career. At WQVK-FM, he started as “The Reverend of Rock and Roll.” Before leaving the station to work as the music director at WXRT in Chicago in October 1984, the radio personality spent seven years there.
He received the FMQB award for “Music Director of the Year” while working at WXRT. After six productive years, Brehmer relocated to Minnesota.
He started working as the program director for KTCZ-FM, but after a year, he went back to WXRT in Chicago. But on this specific occasion, he replaced Terri Hemmert as the morning DJ.
For the past 20 years, Brehmer has anchored a yearly broadcast of the Chicago Cubs home opening on WXRT. In September 1995, he was the first DJ from outside of Cleveland to broadcast live from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame radio studio.
The 67-year-old sent an email to his supporters in 2009 urging people to engage in political activism by leveraging his name to push Congress on music royalties.
Later, he claimed on social media that he did not write or support the email. Audiences enjoyed the famous phrase “It’s good to be alive,” which was lifted from the Just Another Band from L.A. album by Frank Zappa and The Mothers in 1972.
The radio host is on air from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and bills himself as “your closest pal in the whole globe.” In response to letters and emails from listeners in 2002, Brehmer wrote and broadcasted articles like Lin’s Bin. He creates over 100 pieces a year, which he records with producer Peter Crozier. Sara Farr is his wife at the moment.
