Los Lobos, a rock band, paid tribute to Brehmer on Facebook by posting a photo and sharing their thoughts on the former radio host, writing:

“On the planet, there was no better friend or supporter than you. His grin could have lit up Wrigley when he stood up and played maracas with us at his birthday party. May you rest in peace, our brother.”

In a Facebook message, radio station 93XRT also expressed their sorrow, writing,

“It is with great sadness that we inform you that we have all lost our dearest buddy. Lin Brehmer fought cancer as long as he could. He passed away quietly this morning, surrounded by his wife and children. Tomorrow at 10 a.m., his XRT family will commemorate the magnificent life of our closest pal in the entire world. We’ll be there for each other during this difficult time. Lin would be grateful. “You should never take anything for granted.”

Meanwhile, WGN-TV film critic and entertainment reporter Dean Richards described Brehmer as a phenomenal talent as well as a caring and passionate human being.
