Tear gas canisters were used to try to talk him out, but the situation worsened and a K9 team was sent to break into the residence. Moreover, the unfortunate events of that evening came to an end when the suspect was discovered dead inside the apartment.

Speaking with reporters, Assistant Chief Al Labrada of the LAPD said that the suspect got out and opened fire on the police, injuring three of them. They are all currently classed as stable.
