Lisa M. Fairfax has joined the University of Pennsylvania as a Presidential Professor and Co-Director of the Institute for Law and Economics (ILE). She was Alexander Hamilton Professor at the George Washington University Law School before being appointed to the prestigious position of law school dean.
She used to teach business courses that covered a wide range of disciplinary fields such as corporations, seminars, governance in security law, and others. Fairfax is now a member of the American Law Institute (ALI) and a member of the ALI Restatement of Law Advisory Group.
Fairfax formerly served on the Committee on Corporate Laws in the Division of Business Law, which is in charge of amending the Model Business Corporation Act. She was also a past member of AALS’s Securities Regulation Section and the Business Association’s Section.
