American singer Lisa Marie Presley predicted that she will lose her son Benjamin Keough in 2020. The 54-year-old actress wrote a heartfelt statement on National Grief Awareness Day about losing her son, who she had with her ex-husband Danny Keough.
With Danny Keough, Lisa has two sons, Benjamin and Riley, and twin daughters, Harper and Finley, with Michael Lockwood.
In an editorial for People Magazine, Lisa Marie Presley expressed her sorrow over the passing of her 27-year-old son and talked about the “uncomfortable issue” to support anyone who is in need.
“Death and grief are inescapable aspects of existence, whether we like them or not.” There is much to learn and understand about this subject, but the following is what I currently know: One is that grief does not pass after a loss or even after a year or two.
Unlike what some people or our culture would have us believe, mourning is a condition you must endure for the rest of your life. You don’t move on or get over it.
She asserted that grief is “extremely lonely” and that after a while, others, including “family,” want the sufferer to get over their loss and go on. She continued:
Only a select few (friends and family) will keep in touch with you after the first month or two if you’re lucky.
According to Lisa Marie Presley, society tends to “stigmatize” and “judge” the individual who has suffered the loss when a loved one passes away due to an unnatural reason. According to Lisa Marie Presley, she hates herself every day for her child’s passing, but her children give her strength.
“I have to decide to keep going every single day, and to put it gently, it is always difficult… But I continue because I care about my daughters. I continue because my son made it clear in his final moments that taking care of and watching out for his younger sisters were his top concerns.
They loved him, and he loved them. His passing completely exploded and destroyed the lives that I had known with my three children. We are constantly surrounded by it.
The sole child of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley, the King of Rock & Roll, is Lisa Marie Presley. The 54-year-old is a well-known singer and composer who has carried on her father’s legacy.
Two of the singer of Lights Out’s four kids are shared by her and two ex-husbands. She had her first marriage to actor Danny Keough in 1988. Their two kids were Riley Keough and Benjamin Keough.
The oldest child of Keough and Marie Presley, Riley Keough was born on May 29, 1989. She is well-known for her work as a model and actor.
According to her IMDb biography, she has made appearances in several movies and TV shows, including Magic Mike, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Girlfriend Experience, We Don’t Belong Here, Logan Lucky, Under the Silver Lake, Riverdale, Earthquake Bird, The Devil All the Time, The Terminal List, and others.
Riley admitted to The List that she was completely aware of her parents’ very different upbringings.
“With my mother, I had a relatively privileged upbringing.” My father, though, was not that way. And I think it’s been advantageous to have been on both sides. The floor of my father’s apartments was covered in mattresses. He resided in huts and trailer parks.
Benjamin was born to Lisa Marie Presley and Danny in October 1992. He reportedly resembles Elvis Presley a lot, a claim that the So Beautiful singer affirmed.
He was the “quiet storm” at the Opry behind the stage. Everyone looked around and gazed when he arrived over there. He is so odd that everyone wanted to snap a photo with him. I feel overwhelmed when I see him.
Sadly, Benjamin took his own life on July 12, 2020, leaving Marie Presley and her children in shock. 1994 saw the end of her marriage to Keough after six years together.
Before her brief marriages to Nicolas Cage and Michael Jackson, Lisa Marie Presley was never married and never had children. In 2006, she wed musician Michael Lockwood for the fourth time; however, their marriage ended in divorce in 2021. Their kids, Harper and Finley Lockwood are identical twins.
Even though Lisa Marie Presley occasionally posts pictures of her 13-year-old daughters on Instagram, she prefers to keep them out of the spotlight. The twins’ grandma, Priscilla, told Us Weekly that they are brilliant and digitally savvy. She remarked:
They handle the phone better than I do, in my opinion. Kids are already proficient in drawing characters and objects, as well as using Google. These are just young females having fun and living.”
She added that the girls were receiving training in both ballet and opera.
