After being injured in New Jersey, Lil Tjay underwent emergency surgery lately. However, the actual place where Tjay was shot has not been confirmed, as the incident was reported at two locations: a Chipotle restaurant and a gas station. Another individual, whose identity is unknown, has also been injured.
His managers have not disclosed any information regarding his present health. According to a statement from the Major Crimes Unit of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Edgewater Police Department, additional details on the occurrence will be published shortly.
Fans react to the shooting of Lil Tjay
Following his shooting, Lil Tjay is currently trending online. According to Prosecutor Mark Musella, at midnight, officers received a 911 call and rushed to the Promenade, where they found a man with several gunshot wounds. At the Exxon station, a second victim with a gunshot wound was located.
As soon as the news went online, anxious fans took to social media to convey their good wishes for their favorite performer. No suspects have been found, and the investigation is still ongoing. The plot is still developing, and we may discover more within the next few days.
Regarding Lil Tjay
Tione Jayden Merritt, commonly known as Lil Tjay, began his career in 2016 by submitting songs to SoundCloud. In 2018, he also performed at the All Ages Edition of Coast 2 Coast Live NYC.
After releasing the single Brothers and signing with Columbia Records, Tjay came to stardom. He released his debut EP, No Comparison, in 2018. In 2019, he was featured on the top-charting Billboard Hot 100 single Pop-Out by Polo G.
2019 saw the release of Tjay’s second EP titled F.N., followed by his debut album True 2 Myself the following year.
His second single, 20/20, appeared on the Billboard Hot 100, and he released a second EP, State of Emergency, in 2020. Tjay was also featured on Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, one of Pop Smoke’s earliest songs.
The 21-year-old collaborated with 6lack and released Calling My Phone in February 2021. He then collaborated with Polo G and Fivio Foreign on another single, Headshot, which was released in March 2021.
His third studio album, Not In The Mood, will be released in October 2021. Tjay teased another music, In My Head, in March 2022; it was released in April 2022. The following month, he released Strictly 4 My Fans, his next EP.
