The senior’s buddies started a GoFundMe to gather money for the family. Liza Burke told her friends that she was going back to her hotel room because she had gotten a headache at breakfast, interrupting their regular day of spring break fun in Mexico.

Her friends went to check on her but were unable to rouse her, so they promptly dialed for help.

The 22-year-old was diagnosed with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) after being transported to the hospital, which led to her bleeding out of her brain.

Burke’s companion claims that when the hemorrhage rendered her unconscious, she was placed “on life support”.

A University of Georgia senior is allegedly on life support, according to a GoFundMe set up by Jennifer Ritter. Liza Burke was in Mexico for spring break at the same time since her friends were unable to wake her.

The fundraising effort had generated more than $107,000 by late Monday afternoon. Ritter claims that any money generated would be utilized to charter a life-saving plane to transport Burke from Mexico to Jacksonville, Florida.

Liza Burke at Cabo San Lucas awakened on Friday feeling well, but Ritter claimed that Burke began complaining of a headache while he was having breakfast.

When Liza Burke went to her room to rest, her friends tried to rouse her up but were unsuccessful. After a few hours, they called an ambulance.

After being sent to a medical facility, an arteriovenous malformation was found in her. Burke experienced a brain hemorrhage, according to Ritter.

Arteriovenous malformation, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine, occurs when a grouping of blood arteries fails to grow properly in the body.

According to a study from Johns Hopkins, arteries and veins that are bypassing healthy areas “unusually knot and create direct connections.”

Ritter claims that Mexican medical professionals concur that Burke needs to be immediately transported back to the United States for treatment.

“So many people have come out wanting to help, which is a measure of how many people Liza Burke has touched,” Ritter wrote on the fundraiser.

Liza Burke is honest, vivacious, fun-loving, and unafraid. Still, she has a lot to give the world.

A Georgia student experiences a brain hemorrhage abroad, Describe AVM

Arteriovenous malformations are the medical term for blood vessels that develop incorrectly, according to John Hopkins University Medical. Normal tissue and the capillaries that connect arteries and veins are bypassed by the anomaly.

AVM generally develops at or shortly after birth. Its genesis is a mystery. Although there are no first symptoms, it is commonly identified when dealing with other health problems. Typically, one of those blood arteries will rupture as a result.

Less than 4% of instances result in hemorrhages and just 1% of deaths. Sometimes AVM is only identified at an autopsy.

There are four stages, with Stage 1 displaying symptoms including hot and pink skin, Stages 2 through 4 displaying pain and bleeding, and Stage 4 presenting heart failure.

There is no accepted therapy for AVM. The signs can be managed, though. A surgeon might be consulted to help address the issue.
