Lizzy Hoo is gearing up for her Prime Video debut on Thursday, April 6, 2023, with the broadcast of her upcoming special Lizzy Hoo: Hoo Cares!? The hour-long comedy show will be available for global viewing beginning at midnight GMT.
The plot of Lizzy Hoo: Hoo Cares is as follows, according to IMDb:
“Hoo Cares!” is a Lizzy Hoo show about life, family, and achieving your dreams before it’s too late, but only if they’re worthwhile. Lizzy recalls father-daughter trips to Malaysia, including one when she was four and another when she was in her twenties, paragliding to celebrate her mother’s 60th birthday, one of her brother’s garden trout-farming ambitions, and her other brother’s desire to become a well-known YouTube travel blogger.”

Lizzy’s first appearance on Prime Video is also her first appearance in video mode on a major streaming network. Her first show was Hoo Am I? What’s My Name? is available as an audio podcast on iTunes and the ABC website.
The teaser for Lizzy Hoo: Hoo Cares!? was released on Prime Video’s main YouTube account for Australia and New Zealand on March 20, 2023. It begins with Lizzy comparing the COVID-19 epidemic to males and how the outbreak’s characteristics are similar to those of men. She says:
“I think COVID is a good guy because he’s had two years to fix himself… simply returns with a man-bun and a beard and introduces himself as Omicron.”
Before the video ends, Lizzy comments on her family, specifically her mother and sibling.
Lizzy Hoo tried live comedy to boost her self-esteem
Lizzy began doing standup comedy in 2017 with the intention of improving her self-esteem. This worked in her favor, as she was named a New South Wales State Finalist in Australia’s largest open mic comedy competition, RAW Comedy. She was invited to perform at the Sydney Opera House’s Just For Laughs Festival the following year.
