Cue “Surprise Me!” Machine Gun Kelly claimed that he was electrocuted on stage during his February 10 pre-Super Bowl concert. The 32-year-old rapper-turned-pop-punk singer re-posted a fan-posted clip of him sprinting on stage during a concert at the TPC Birds Nest in Scottsdale, Arizona, to his Instagram Story and provided an update.
MGK, whose actual name is Colson Baker, jumped onstage in the video while fog machines emitted spurts of steam and his distinctive brilliant blonde hair was standing on up, resembling liberty spikes.
“Yooo, I got shocked and my hair stood on end,” he wrote alongside the video, along with the emojis for mind-blowing, laughter, and lightning bolts.
For the performance, MGK wore a white crop top and a pair of tight pants that matched. According to Setlist. fm, the concert featured a multitude of his songs, including “Emo Girl,” “Concert for Aliens,” and many others, as well as a version of Paramore’s “Misery Business.”
MGK took to his Story earlier in the day to thank supporters for selling out the show so rapidly. “I’m playing this PGA golf Birds Nest show tonight, and they’ve been doing it for 70, 80 years, or something, and it’s the fastest-selling show they’ve ever had because of you guys.
That appears to be the trend with all the recently announced shows that feature us,” he remarked. “I’m just incredibly flattered and honored since I don’t even post a lot of the content and you guys find it and share it. It fills me with joy and pride to be among you guys.”
MGK had a very busy night. In addition to attending his own show, he attended a pre-Super Bowl party organized by Drake and Megan Fox.
As they left the celebration, he was seen holding hands with Jennifer’s Body actress. She wowed in a plunging black top, but the musician wore a bright ensemble with a cartoon print on his t-shirt.
